About Us

History of the Harrison’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

Our Story

Harrison’s Spicy Brown Mustard began in December of 1996. It all started as a family Christmas stocking stuffer to give to coworkers, extended family, and friends. It was so well-received that the family continued to make it over the years and refine the recipe and ingredients to the point that we felt it was ready to go public! We are now selling our labor of love at various farmer’s market’s, fairs, and festivals.

We pride ourselves in making this delicious product with no added sugar, dairy, or animal by-products. The spice comes from our special family recipe and ingredients and contain no horseradish or Wasabi. Magic!

History of the Harrison’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

After our son was born in 1996 we had plenty empty baby food and poi jars. So for Christmas wanted to reuse the jars for stocking stuffers. And we made mustard. We made plenty. Everybody got some. I bought the rest to our bar Legend Sports Pub

There was a sweet one and a spicy one. Spoiler alert!  The spicy one was the favorite. Shortly after that Sara returned to work and I took over the mustard making myself  After a few tweaks the mustard recipe hasn’t changed.

The mustard gained a following and it was a must try for all new customers as suggested by the Legend Sports Pub Waikiki regulars. Always “why don’t you sell this”? I would always respond “I’m selling it 1 tablespoon at a time, on a hot dog and and a beer”! Dumb move.

I did several food drives a year and one of the door prizes was a container of Legend Sports Pub mustard. A prized win cuz that’s the only way to get it. And our Christmas food drive (our best) one person received Legend Sports Pub mustard for the year!  Funny how Billy Pierce always won it!

With everything in place as much as it could be, we launched Harrison’s Spicy Brown Mustard at the Honolulu and Made in Hawaii Festivals in 2023.
